CTTRANSIT operates 12 Commuter Express routes in the Hartford area. These routes operate weekdays during peak hours, mostly between suburban park & ride lots and downtown Hartford. Six Hartford area routes offer mid-day trips.

There are several other providers of Commuter Express service. Three Hartford area routes offer mid-day trips in addition to weekday peak hour schedules. They are listed in the Other Transit Providers section under important links. Tickets and passes for express bus operators other than CTTRANSIT (DATTCO, Collins, etc.) are not sold online through this site. Please contact these express bus operators for tickets or passes for their routes.

Another great reason to buy the 31-Day Pass.

Express Bus passengers who take advantage of the 31-Day Pass can also ride assured they will get where they need to be in an emergency. Simply call the Guaranteed Ride HOTLINE at (800) 972-EASY (3279) between 8:00am and 11:00pm, Monday through Friday on the day of your emergency to arrange a ride.

Unexpected circumstances such as a family emergency, illness, or unscheduled overtime qualify you for a Guaranteed Ride - missing your regular bus does not. Rides are available Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 11:00pm, and there is no service on six major holidays. Your ride must be arranged through the Guaranteed Ride HOTLINE and cannot be arranged by calling the CTTRANSIT Customer Service Center. You will not be reimbursed if you contact the taxi company directly. The Guaranteed Ride benefit only covers 31-Day Express Pass purchasers; additional passengers in the cab must pay their portion of the fare.

The Guaranteed Ride benefit is available four (4) times each year for Express Bus customers with a valid 31-Day Pass. When you call the HOTLINE please have your location for pickup and your Express Pass details ready. Sorry - the Guaranteed Ride benefit is not available to customers using a 10-Ride Ticket or paying a cash fare. Another great reason to buy the 31-Day Pass!

All route maps and schedules in this section are in PDF format and require the proper browser plug-ins to be able to view them. If you already have the Adobe PDF Reader plug-in installed, then you will be able to view all the materials in this section.

If you require the plug-in, click on the Adobe PDF Reader button below and you will be taken to Adobe's download site. Acrobat Reader will be downloaded to your system to allow you to view PDF files easily.

Once you execute the download process, you will either be asked where you wish to download the installer to or it will be downloaded to your default download location. After the download is complete, locate the file and launch the installer.

The installer will search your hard drive for a compatible Browser to install the plug-in file. When it finds an appropriate browser, it will verify it with you and ask to proceed with the installation. If this is your choice Browser, then allow the installer to complete the installation, if you would like it to be installed in another Browser, then select that Browser from the list.

The installer will place the appropriate plug-in file into the Plug-Ins folder within the application. If you have more than one Browser on your hard disk, repeat this process for each Browser.

Now, when you wish to review a map or schedule from within the CTTRANSIT web site, simply, launch the PDF file and Adobe Acrobat Reader will launch to allow you to view, print and save the file.
